The ultimate goal with your nutritional plan, with your bodybuilding contest diet is to maintain and build as much muscle mass while getting as lean and ripped as possible. There are 2 ways to look at a diet. Number 1 is eliminating all the junk food, all that food that you know you should not eat. The pizza, the hamburgers, the french fries things like that. That’s one way to diet. To eat a clean bodybuilding diet. The other definition of a bodybuilding competition diet is reducing your calories. Eating fewer calories than you actually need to maintain your muscle mass to get really lean for a contest. So those are the things to consider. Eating clean and then reducing you calories. You will need to decide how many weeks you are going to go on this strict bodybuilding diet to prepare for the contest. A standard amount of weeks that many bodybuilders do is 12 weeks. You might want to go more than that if you want to prepare or fewer if your in great shape already. So you need to decide right away how many weeks will you eliminate the junk food and you will start reducing your calories. Generally when it comes to preparing for a contest you want to gradually reduce your calories as the competition nears. A lot of standards need to be set. A lot of standards need to be executed. And that’s how you diet for a bodybuilding contest.
