About
Learn about the history of bodybuilding.

Bodybuilding might be a little older than you think. Originating from victorian strongmen, the father of bodybuilding- Eugen Sandow, would emerge in the late 19th century and host the worlds first bodybuilding show in 1901.

From here bodybuilding’s journey greatly accelerated, with the iconic Mr America competitions marking the start of international bodybuilding leagues. The rise of the IFBB and AAU would propel bodybuilding into a new era, birthing bodybuilding’s first wave of stars, such as Steve Reeves and Alan Stephan. Fierce competition between federations would lead to the creation of bodybuilding’s most prestigious title- the Mr Olympia. It’s most famous champion, Arnold Schwarzenegger would go on to star in the famous Pumping Iron docu-drama, which propelled bodybuilding internationally.
